Role: UX/UI Designer, Product Owner, Web Developer & Marketing Artist
Time Frame: 8 Months
Platform: Web & Mobile AR App
Triassic Resort is a Jurassic Park-inspired all inclusive island resort – featuring its own hotel, theme park, museum, observatory and other exciting attractions. The highlight to the park, however, is the Augmented Reality app the resort has published – allowing visitors to interact with dinosaurs through their phones in life-like situations.
Triassic Resort was a fake product produced over several months and different classes. As such, it received a partial website, IA, branding and marketing, and AR app mockup.
Website Labels & Navigation
We began with determining the ideal market and developed the navigation and labels – which ended up being extensive due to the sheer size and needs of the resort. Everything was to be available on the app and website, so clear labeling was mandatory for ease of use. In the end, the labels chosen reflected each important feature of the resort.
With the recent success of Pokemon Go and the current inability to restore real dinosaurs, my client wanted the park to feature a “Dinosaur AR” app. This would allow for patrons to “interact” with dinosaurs through augmented reality during their stay throughout the park.
Branding & Marketing
The branding for Triassic Park was meant to be bold, exciting and fun.
The target audience for this project is young adults, ranging from 20-35. The 90s featured a plethora of dinosaur pop culture, primarily movies and tv shows, which many in this age range grew up with and adored.
The park, while family friendly, is primarily geared towards this age group – with many adult-only aspects to the park (vineyards and breweries being a prominent attraction).
It was important to both emphasize the tech and, of course, the dinosaurs to help sell the product.
